Introducing artist in residence: James Keay-Bright ///
James is from Wales, a place bit like Kärsämäki: the town of Cotswold in a rural landscape.
He paints with oil & acrylic on canvas. In Kärsämäki he is working on paintings depicting isolated figures against natural landscapes. They contain latin verses from mythical stories and have a biblical sense to them. On the other hand, they might be seen as comments on the current global situation of Great Britain.

Introducing artist in residence: Keturah Cummings. Keturah is from the States but has been living and working in Berlin for seven years. She has studied film, video and performance in the California College of Arts.

She employes materials historically associated with the natural and spiritual world to create a personal symbology - a visual and ritual language pointing beyond the limits that define Neoliberalism and the Anthropocene.
Her 'artist talk' is today at Art House Nahkuri 6 pm. Welcome! ... Näytä lisääNäytä vähemmän
